I heard about it through an English teaching journal, where lots of teachers said they used it in class and students loved it.

I definitely want to read Battle Royale, since it evidently has some similar overall plot as The Hunger Games. And it is supposed to be good. :)

Amanda - your experience with The Silenced makes me want to read it more. I love hyperventilating? :PCGLnychttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08182797883212581609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-987167496142681464.post-26448920828323843082010-08-31T13:34:25.603+02:002010-08-31T13:34:25.603+02:00A great post to bookmark.A great post to bookmark.Beth Fhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08627666337961326265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-987167496142681464.post-43574521654969425362010-08-31T10:01:27.454+02:002010-08-31T10:01:27.454+02:00I have some of those on my TBR pile or my wishlist...I have some of those on my TBR pile or my wishlist, but now I<m actually going to add a few more. It is a picture book, originally published in 1985. Unfortunately, it did not do particularly well, because parents do not want their young children reading dystopias and older children and adults are not interested in picture books. This is definitely worth a look though, I promise!Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00370486039531015541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-987167496142681464.post-76874210202911731782010-08-30T14:38:29.004+02:002010-08-30T14:38:29.004+02:00This post and the one from you have me adding so m...This post and the one from you have me adding so many books to my wish list!Trishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13917705393662132891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-987167496142681464.post-76646670728698615062010-08-30T14:38:19.681+02:002010-08-30T14:38:19.681+02:00A lot of these sound very interesting, but particu...A lot of these sound very interesting, but particularly Razor Girl. I didn't get very far in it, but not because it wasn't good. It was in a really stressful month and the first few pages were some of the most oppressive I'd ever read in dystopian, so much so that I was hyperventilating and just dreading what came next. I put it back and plan to read it sometime in the future when I'm under less pressure!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07026099426503180472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-987167496142681464.post-24348038421027417652010-08-30T13:54:50.528+02:002010-08-30T13:54:50.528+02:00These look excellent. It is a new zombie apocalypse novel that takes place in 2034, twenty years after the first outbreak of zombies.Jazzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07906363450397019069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-987167496142681464.post-85149517813535496062010-08-30T12:45:03.392+02:002010-08-30T12:45:03.392+02:00I haven't heard of any of these.
