We enjoyed our trip to Goerlitz (very beautiful old town on the border with Poland), Dresden and Erfurt (where we had a tour of the largest freestanding bell in the world - so big that all 8 people on our tour could fit under it).
Emmy quickly made herself at home at the catsitter. My friend Charlotte T. sent me a text picture message with the following picture, saying she'd have to bill me for the downtime caused by bad kitty:

ReplyDeleteI'm a little tempted to put Joyce Carol Oates on my list - I really enjoy her writing, but I've never really read any of her books. Just reviews and magazine articles and a short story or two. But Gravedigger's Daughter is definitely on my TBR list for next year!
ReplyDeleteI like the 3 book rule. I'm pretty sure my favorites all fall within that, too. I would never pick anyone that I'd only read one of their books. You can tell if you love that book, but I don't think you can tell if you love the author.

ReplyDeleteYou are the second person to list Douglas Coupland. I still can't believe I don't have him listed... Generation X and Microserfs are some of my favorites. Shampoo Planet was most excellent as well.

I do plan to post pics of Emmy for TT whenever I have any of interest! And since she is always doing cute things, it shouldn't be too hard to post pics most weeks.
