Library Thing Tuesday (76) + Picture of Emmy

Today's question from Wendi: Do you have a CueCat? Have you thought of getting one? If you had it, would you explore the other uses such as creating a shopping list? Can you think of any helpful uses for the CueCat other than scanning your books into LT?

I do not have a CueCat, though I thought about getting one for my father - he is more likely to need it than I am! Have you ever noticed that ARCs don't have barcodes? Of course, since I'd like to wean myself slowly off ARCs (not completely of course, but to a more manageable number) maybe I can reward myself with a CueCat if I ever do.

But what I lack in CueCats, I make up for in real cats. Real cats that leave real fur in layers all over my clothes, my furniture... and my stove? Finn!!

At least Emmy has the decency to recycle her fur:

Maybe you could trade a real cat for a CueCat! Seems fair to me! lol

OK, not knowing what a CueCat was, I googled it. It says it is/was a bar code reader for a now defunct system. Am I missing something?

I don't usually comment on your cat pics, but I always enjoy them! These ones are adorable as usual!

Casts are so funny when they get in bags and boxes. Tell Finn to watch out for the hot stove!

These are so cute! Can I ask how old Emmy was when you introduced Finn to the household? We're thinking about getting a kitten in the spring, but we're wondering how our older cat (13 and a boy) would feel about that.

ccq - really? Check the link to Wendi's blog. She has a bunch of links there.

Jess - Emmy was only 1 1/2 when Finn came home. About 2 days of adjustment, and then they were fine. I've heard that older cats can have problems though.

I love those photos!

My husband has talked about getting me a bar code reader-- he loves gadgets. I'm not yet sold on the idea :-).

love the pics. I understand about the recycle bags. Abby loves ours. We keep them hanging on our dining room chairs, and she climbs in them. It is quite funny to watch her!

I just love the pictures of your cat! Watch out...I might come over there and replace your kitties with my evil kitty Zoey.

Okay, I just found your blog today (seriously, how have I missed it?) and I just have to say awww. I have 5 cat's (I know...insert crazy cat lady jokes here) so I'm particularly partial to all cat lovers (though your posts are great, even without the cute kitties.) Hope you don't mind that I'm following your blog now...

Emmy is so beautiful!

I think I'm going to get a cue cat soon. I've been procrastinating for far too long...

Cute kitty as always :-)
I do have a cue cat- I got it when my husband got an LT account because he was totally overwhelmed by the idea of entering his 1000+ books by hand. It helped a lot; it didn't get all of his books (it won't work with older paperbacks and hardcovers, never mind ARCs) but it made a difference. And right now I'm reorganizing a library collection using LT and the cue cat has been invaluable! :-)

Emmy is absurdly cute! Our cat used to love sleeping in the bathroom sink. But I've never seen a stove cat before.

I have thought about getting a CueCat, but since I collect so willy-nilly I am not sure it would be a smart purchase. It would have really helped when I first opened my account and had a few hundered books to enter, but now, not so much. Great picture of the kitties as well. What is it about cats and boxes and bags?
