Stop #10 on the Ten Things You Might Like To Know About Where She Went tour + Giveaway

Of all the YA novels I've read over the past 3 years, IF I STAY is in my top 10.  (Read my gushing review).

That's why I was super excited to hear there is a sequel told from Adam's POV. If you haven’t read IF I STAY, the mere existence of a sequel is sort of a spoiler, so you really should not pay attention to this teaser tour and should go read IF I STAY first (and you should check the end of the post for a GIVEAWAY). But for the rest of you, who felt the book left you hanging and wondered what would happen after that squeeze of the hand, the wait is almost over:  WHERE SHE WENT comes out April 2011. Still, a long time, I know, but right now Gayle Forman is doing a teaser tour to give IF I STAY fans the scoop on what they can expect from Mia and Adam’s new chapter.

Teaser Number 10:

10. Remember how by page 17 in IF I STAY, Mia’s parents were killed and Mia herself was like a ghost? Well, guess what? Nobody dies in WHERE SHE WENT.

But…I wouldn’t suggest you put away your box of Kleenex just yet. You might still need them.

See the first 9 stops on the tour. (Totally worth it!)

Watch the IF I STAY paperback trailer:

Preorder your copy of WHERE SHE WENT!

So, I have one signed copy of IF I STAY to give away to one lucky reader in the US.  To enter, just tell me in the comments which novel you think needs a sequel that drops in on the characters 3 years later.  Contest closes in one week (Sept 7th 11:59 CST), so spread the word fast.  Hope you love it as much as I do!

OKay...everyone may beat me down but I think revisiting the Twilight Saga three years later would be interesting. They may have all strangled each other by that time...and Renesmee might be fully grown and married to Jacob! *shrug* I think it would be interesting. :)

I would love to have a sequel (or a glimpse of more) of Unwind by Neal Shusterman. Great novel, but it is a 'stand alone' and as far as I know that is the end of the story for us. I can't wait to read Where She Went!

Thanks,
Scoot

I would love to see a sequel to Breaking Dawn. It would be fun to see if they are still one big, happy family.

I love that you posted the paperback cover with the new book's cover--I was just looking at it the other day and thinking about how different it was from If I Stay . . . now I realise it's only different from the hardcover version.

I'd be interested in a sequel of Time After Time because I loved it so, so much. Or really, Unwind like Scoot already said.

I'm a Harry Potter addict, so of course I've got to say the HP books. I would love to see what happens to all the characters 3 years down the line.

I'd love to win this book too!

It is hard for me to choose a book to 3-years-later. I really like open ended books. I loved that about If I Stay, but I have to get over it, because the sequel is on its way!

I guess one book that I would love to have another installment of is Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I wouldn't mind revisiting Junior and friends and I love Alexie's writing and trust that he would do it right.

I'm so excited! I'd love to see a sequel to The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau Banks by E. Lockhart. The story in the book was definitely finished, but I'd love to drop in 3 years later to see how Frankie's criminal mastermindness has taken off!

I'd like a three years after sequel to TALES OF THE MADMAN UNDERGROUND by John Barnes. I hoped the protagonists would make it in their lives, and it would be interesting to see how they did in college.

I'm a HUGE fan of Sarah Dessen & in her novels she brings up older characters in her later books. I would LOVE to see a sequel which includes all of her characters & where they ended up three years later!
I'm especially curious about Auden & Eli from Along for the Ride!

Hmm, good question. I agree that it would be fun to see what happened 3 years after Breaking Dawn.

AND I completely agree with Lena. I desperately want a 4th book in the Darkest Powers series! Ahh..Derek :)

I haven't read IF I STAY yet, but it is definitely on my list. I've read so many ravings about it. :)

I would love to read a proper sequel to HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE -- there are existing sequel(s), but Howl is merely a supporting character in them. I'd love to read a sequel wherein he's once again one of the main characters.

Oh man, I would have to say that I'd want a sequel to The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. I absolutely loved the ending, but I have such an adoration for the characters that reading more about them in the future would be a wish come true. :)

Oh gosh, there are several books I would love to see revisited! Of course, a lot of them do have sequels coming (White Cat, City of Glass, An Echo in The Bone). I guess one that doesn't have a sequel coming that I know of is Finnikin of The Rock by Melina Marchetta. I loved that book & would love to go back to that world.

Thanks so much for the contest!

Anywho, I would love to see a sequel for Cracked Up To Be by Courtney Summers. I'd just like to know how everyone's life turned out.

I have never heard of this book before. It looks really good. I would love to see 3 years later from the end of Harry Potter. I mean the ending where you find out about the kids. I really would love to see adventures of their kids. By then all of their kids are at Hogwarts.

This is a hard one... I think I'd choose Neal Shusterman's Unwind.

April is only 7 months away! That still seems like a long time, but I have confidence that it will pass quickly.

My first choice for a book three years down the road is If I Stay, but since we are getting that I would like to see another book to Lisa Mcmann's Wake trilogy three years down the road instead. They are excellent books.

Since I just recently read the last book in Rachel Vincent's Shifters series I'd have to say I'd love to see a novel that drops in 3 years after the end of ALPHA. I was not thrilled with just the plain old ending to the book. It didn't feel like a series ending at all. :(

Thanks for the giveaway!

The book "Elsewhere" is one I'd like for a sequel to take place three years later, perhaps more. The book painted such a beautiful picure about life and death, and how love transcends both. It would be interesting to see if Liz and Owen were able to find each other later, after they'd moved on to Earth. Two new characters, but the same love.

Hey, first time visitor through the link on Story Siren. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED If I Stay, and have been encouraging EVERYONE I know to read this book.

If you liked If I Stay, you really need to read The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. My copy has a glowing review from Gayle Forman on the back, and that's the book I pick to see a sequel in the future. Especially because Lennie and Joe would both be in college by that time...

Here's a link for it, if you're interested in reading more: http://challengingthebookworm.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/the-sky-is-everywhere/
