Library Thing Tuesday (50) + picture of Emmy

This week's question from host Wendi: Did you know about Helper Badges? Do you have any badges? If so, what is your highest medal/number? What is your lowest? Do the badges give you any incentive to help add to the areas of LT that they cover (Common Knowledge, Venues, etc)?

I found out about helper badges a few months ago on while looking at someone's profile and noticing they had them. I have two badges - Helper and Common Knowledge - both with 22 contributions. I do help out when I enter a new book, but I'm not actively pursuing badges.

Emmy gave us a scare the other day because we had left the bathroom window slightly open and we could not find her anywhere. We thought she might have crawled out the window and fallen 3 stories. Well, eventually she came out of her hiding place - wherever it was! One of her favorite known hideouts is inside Daniel's desk drawers (she crawls in through an opening in the back). We have to pull out the top drawer to get her out.

Hard to believe she could like to hide in the drawers like that! I guess she likes small spaces.

She loves small spaces (unlike me). We've found her in the weirdest places - including my purse!

HAHAH! In your purse?? LOL!

Lenore Appelhans said...

Well, one of the larger purses in my collection, but yeah. Silly kitty!

that picture is just too cute for words!!

I am absolutely clueless as to what "helper badges" are --- but I am going to go check 'em out.

Emmy looks extremely bored with the whole situation there! Cats can find the strangest places to hide out. Sometimes it's really scary!

I don't have any badges. :( Emmy is so cute in the drawers!

I'm relieved to know my cat isn't the only creature that ends up in places like locked cupboards (??) and inside pillowcases : )

Thanks for the blog comment : )

I don't think I have any badges.

Oh, thank goodness she was ok!!!
She's adorable by the way! :-)

Oh no, you must have been so worried!

I've never had a cat, but I used to have a hamster who was an excellent hider. His favorite thing was to escape to our laundry basket, where he would chew up all of our socks to shreds.

I have to frantically search for my cat about once a week. She loves to go outside so she's always trying to sneak out. If I can't find her I assume that's where she and freak out trying to find her. She loves to hide in empty boxes or in quilts. She'll make herself a tunnel so it looks like you just didn't make the bed, but she's inside! lol

I have a couple of helper badges too, but they aren't really anything that I'm working towards.

Emmy looks kind of mad that you are disturbing her. :)

What would happen if you didn't realise she was there and shut all the drawers? Is there room behind them or would she get squished?

Lenore Appelhans said...

H - The drawers are already shut when she crawls in. They don't go all the way back.

What a contented little pumpkin your Emmy is! Love that face! She's kind of like, "Oh, my silly humans!"

I didn't have a clue about the Helper Badges. I'll have to check for them.

I am glad you found Emmy. There have been times when I've been close to having a heart attack because I couldn't find Parker. I swear that cat knows how to make himself invisible sometimes.

I have two shiny silver helper badges that I discovered by accident awhile ago. They're rather neat and have prompted me to contribute to Common Knowledge more frequently.

Emmy is so cute! Sorry she gave you such a fright. One of our cats fell from a 2 story window when I was little and lived to tell the tale -- thankfully he landed in some nice, soft bushes!

That cat is just waiting to jump out and bite you..I know it...

Ah, I still can't figure out what helper badges are. I looked on your profile, Lenore, and I couldn't see any reference to them...help?! :)

Lenore Appelhans said...

Sadako - They on my my profile page in the right sidebar at the very bottom. Not very prominent so they are easy to overlook.

Aw, so cute!

Yeah, that's happened to me before they sure can give you a heart attack can't they? Love the pic of Emmy! The look on her face totally says, "Hey! This is my hiding space. Get your own!" or "May I help you?" Too cute :)

I can't wait until Tuesdays so I can see what Emmy is up to! She is quite the kitty!

Emmy is too funny! Can't wait to see next week's pic! :)

Oh my, that would have given me a scare too. You never know with cats especially and open windows. I'm glad she was safe. She looks too cute hiding in that drawer. It's funny how they like little enclosed spaces.

Oh my! I would have been worried too! Emmy looks so smug sitting in that secret hiding place.

I'm glad she didn't explore the open window!

Emmy looks a little annoyed, like you woke her up from a nap.
